            Woodridge United Methodist Church

Join us on Sunday for worship services
at  10:00 am.

Instructions can be found below.
All are Welcome!

"That's Not All Folks!"

Whew!  Easter is over and now things can get back to normal!!  Absolutely not!!!  If one has truly experienced the Resurrection there is no way to go back to what used to be unless your name is "Thomas".   Thomas was not with the other disciples when Jesus appeared to them and so had some doubts about the matter like you and I do from time to time.

The Gospel according to John lets us know that there is so much more that happened throughout the ministry of Jesus that didn't make the Gospel accounts we have.  Maybe that's where we should focus our attention this week instead of continuing to ruin Thomas' reputation.  Or maybe we can find the link that restores at least a portion of his reputation.  Let's see what happens!  Join us on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. in person (please register at our or online on our Woodridge UMC YouTube Channel  as we think about what else there could possibly be that isn't contained in the Gospel accounts.  After all, "THAT'S NOT ALL FOLKS"!!!

Woodridge UMC is an open and loving United Methodist community striving to:

Welcoming to all;
Uniting in service toward greater social justice for all;
Moving forward with understanding and acceptance of all peoples;
Creating disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our purpose is to offer a safe place and community to all races, cultures, religions, genders, sexual identities, ethnicities, age groups and other beliefs.

Youth Ministry Winter/Spring of 2021

Youth Group on Zoom this Sunday, April 11th at 1:30pm. Contact Pastor Dave for the Zoom link. What do we do? Try out some prayer practices, play a game, encourage each other, share ways we continue to cope with this pandemic.

Looking ahead:

Get ready for our next in person, outdoor, all church event on Sunday, May 16th at 1:30pm: Blessing the Wheels. Bring your bikes, scooters, roller blades, skateboards, car — anything with wheels — as we pray over them and you. Then stick around to ride around the parking lot and share a snack.

While the pandemic means we are unable to hold a traditional mission trip this summer, we are working on alternative opportunities. Stay tuned!

Outreach Opportunities

Family of Rev. Joseph Kim
Your support means everything to the family of Rev. Joseph Kim, as they have been navigating this painful time. It was a shock to many of us that Rev. Kim, age 55, passed away all of sudden on March 3, 2021 after having multiple strokes. He was a faithful and active member of the Northern Illinois Conference since 2009 and served Fenton, Lockport: First, and Wheaton: Aldersgate. Nothing has prepared his family and all of us for this immense feeling of loss and sorrow. Some of you already have reached out and extended your kindness and sympathy to the family. Thank you! This time, you and your church are invited to join the fundraising for the family as they are financially struggling, not only to pay for the funeral expenses, but also for the future of the family.

Please help the family by sending funds in any amount you’re comfortable with to Lemont United Methodist Church at 25 W Custer Street, Lemont, IL 60439 by April 10, 2021. You may also give it online at or using GivePlus App on your cellphone (find Lemont United Methodist Church and click Memorial for Rev. Joseph Kim).

Together, as the Aurora District churches and colleagues, we can share their financial burdens as they’ve been navigating unchartered water. Thank you so much for your support in advance!

Northern Illinois Conference
Get to Know Interim Bishop John Hopkins
With the new year, we welcome retired Bishop John L. Hopkins, who is serving as the interim bishop for the Northern Illinois Conference through 2021.

Typically we would host a meet-and-greet event or a formal welcome, but because COVID-19 prevents us from gathering we are introducing him through a Zoom interview.

Did you know Bishop Hopkins served in campus ministries? NIC Dir. of Communications Anne Marie Gerhardt "sat down" with Bishop Hopkins to ask a few questions about his background and ministry to help all of us get to know him a little better.
