Youth Group on Zoom this
Sunday,

prayer practices, play a game, encourage each other, share
ways we continue to cope with this pandemic.
Looking ahead:
Get ready for our next in person, outdoor, all

While the pandemic means we are unable to hold a
traditional mission trip this summer, we are working on
alternative opportunities. Stay tuned!

Family of
Rev. Joseph Kim
Your support means everything to the
family of Rev. Joseph Kim, as they have been navigating this
painful time. It was a shock to many of us that Rev. Kim, age
55, passed away all of sudden on March 3, 2021 after having
multiple strokes. He was a faithful and active member of the
Northern Illinois Conference since 2009 and served Fenton,
Lockport: First, and Wheaton: Aldersgate. Nothing has
prepared his family and all of us for this immense feeling of
loss and sorrow. Some of you already have reached out and
extended your kindness and sympathy to the family. Thank you!
This time, you and your church are invited to join the
fundraising for the family as they are financially
struggling, not only to pay for the funeral expenses, but
also for the future of the family.
Please help the family by sending funds in any amount you’re
comfortable with to Lemont
United Methodist Church at 25 W Custer Street, Lemont, IL
60439 by April 10, 2021. You may also give it
online at lemontumc.org or using GivePlus App on
your cellphone (find Lemont United Methodist Church and click
Memorial for Rev. Joseph Kim).
Together, as the Aurora District churches and colleagues, we
can share their financial burdens as they’ve been navigating
unchartered water. Thank you so much for your support in
advance!

Northern Illinois Conference
Get to
Know Interim Bishop John Hopkins
With the new
year, we welcome retired Bishop John L. Hopkins, who is
serving as the interim bishop for the Northern Illinois
Conference through 2021.
Typically we would host a meet-and-greet event or a formal
welcome, but because COVID-19 prevents us from gathering we
are introducing him through a Zoom interview.
Did you know Bishop Hopkins served in campus ministries? NIC
Dir. of Communications Anne Marie Gerhardt "sat
down" with Bishop Hopkins to ask a few questions about
his background and ministry to help all of us get to know him
a little better.
